Current Mode Amplification

The amplifier is to a headphone system what the engine is to a car; making a crucial impact on the sound quality.

The patented Current Mode Amplification technology is the fundamental difference between Questyle’s hardware and other products.

With the self-developed SiP Current Mode Amplifier module, M12 is free from the power limitations of typical amplifier chips, providing high current output, vanishingly low distortion of 0.0003% THD, ultra-high current output power, and excellent sound control.

The extended frequency response and wide dynamic range can bring out the best from your headphones — even pairs that are more difficult to drive.

Smart Impedance Detection

The M12’s smart detection system measures the headphone’s impedance and automatically sets the gain level to match: low gain for low-impedance/high sensitivity headphones, high gain for high-impedance headphones. LED indicators show which level is in use.

When the detected impedance is less than 70Ω, M12 will self-adjust to low gain output. When it is more than 70Ω, M12 will self-adjust to high gain output. When it is more than 600Ω, M12 will automatically switch to 2Vrms line out.

ESS Flagship DAC

The logos of both Questyle and ESS appear on the M12 in order to mark the first major collaboration between the two companies.

Deveoped over a two year process, the ESS ES9281AC DAC chip is able to process PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz, DSD 256, and decode MQA.

Whether it’s the deep sound of the organ in a cathedral, or the strongest bass and guitar melodies in a classic rock recording, M12 will always be able to capture the details buried deep in the soundtrack.

Excellent Audio Performance

Plug and Play

M12 is compatible with Android 5.1 and above systems on popular smartphones and tablets. For iOS devices like iPhone and iPad, M12 can be used in conjunction with a Lightning adapter.

For computers, M12 supports macOS and Windows 10 with no additional driver installation required.

Classic Black

The chassis of M12 is made from a single piece of CNC machined aluminum.

After a sandblasting process, a tasteful and professional anodized black finish emerges.
