Following the new design language set by the previous-generation R1 Mk4, R1S grabs attention with its flawless look and sound. With its tactile curves, exclusive Mid Grey finish and composite wood hand-crafted grille, R1S exudes fresh contemporary design. The grille material is created from sustainable woods, which are carefully spliced, coloured, and recomposed to closely mimic the rich tones of slow growing hardwoods, without the ecological impact.

The cabinet and grille blend perfectly with the trademark RotoDial controller and new colour display, to create a feel that encapsulates the new technical capabilities of R1S.

Supercharged Radio

A complete smart radio, R1S is equipped with FM and internet radio tuners with pre-sets; directly supports major streaming services including Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer; and with its quality Bluetooth receiver can play from every other streaming service available on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The Bluetooth function also seamlessly integrates with the volume function on phones and tablets, so volume can be easily raised or reduced as desired.

Smart Radio

With such a vast choice of stations, radio is still one of the best ways to enjoy curated music and chat. With its SmartRadio tuner, R1S has been designed to make your enjoyment of this medium the best ever. The FM tuner provides quick access to local and national broadcasts, but with an Internet tuner also included, R1S allows you access to stations and podcasts both local and worldwide. Best of all, when streaming radio via the Internet, there’s no need to worry about interference so you can enjoy better quality sound.

With the rise of podcasts, R1S even has a source dedicated to this growing format. The choice of stations and podcasts is vast, but with R1S’s search facility, finding what you want is easy via our intuitive RotoDial controller.

The RotoDial controller on the top of R1S also allows for easy access to all your favourite stations, with support for saving presets. The display allows you to browse and discover stations by popularity, location, and genre. Control over R1S and stations can also be accessed via the new free to download Android and iOS app called Oktiv.

Whatever your taste in music or talk, with R1S you will quickly find stations new and old you will love, and if you live abroad you can stay in touch by still enjoying your favourite programming from home.

Stream On

With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming also built in the appeal of R1S is further enhanced. R1S directly supports music subscription services Spotify Connect, Amazon Music, and Deezer (where available) for access to a nearly infinite library of music.

For
example, using Spotify Connect, you can simply select R1S as your
playback device in the Spotify app, and start listening to anything you
please at the highest possible quality offered by the service.

With R1S’ Bluetooth 5 receiver, virtually every other service also becomes available through your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Whatever sound is playing on your device will be outputted through the R1S. The Bluetooth function remembers up to six devices and provides excellent sound quality and efficiency, meaning minimal battery drain on battery powered devices

Full of Useful Features

With
a vivid colour display, time, alarm, and programme information are
clearly shown and on streamed sources, album, and station artwork can be
displayed too. The display also auto-adjusts to suit light levels,
making it an ideal bedside companion. Other features include a USB-C
charge and MP3 playback port, headphone output and a switchable line
input.
